Building Bridges at St James: TrustBridge Joins the Family Fun Night

On Monday, August 5th, the TrustBridge Care management team had the absolute pleasure of attending the monthly Family Fun Night at the St James Centre—a warm, welcoming evening that truly celebrates togetherness, play and community spirit.

What Are Family Fun Nights?

Hosted monthly by the St James Centre, Family Fun Nights are vibrant, inclusive evenings where families from all walks of life come together to socialise, relax and enjoy activities for all ages. From arts and crafts and storytelling to games of football and hide-and-seek, the atmosphere is full of laughter, connection and play. Refreshments are served for all to enjoy, creating a comfortable space where children and adults alike feel safe and welcome.

What makes these events so special is how they bridge gaps between families from different backgrounds and experiences. It’s a space where everyone is encouraged to be themselves, meet new people and feel a genuine sense of belonging.

What We Learned

Attending the event gave us valuable insight into how many families are unaware that in-home care services for children even exist—let alone that they can access them with the right guidance and support. Our team was able to chat with parents, carers and guardians about domiciliary care for children, answering questions and providing practical advice about how care can be tailored to each child’s individual needs within the comfort of their own home.

It was heartening to have these conversations and see how receptive families were to learning about care options they may not have previously considered.

What We Got Up To

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Family Fun Night without some serious playtime! Our team jumped right in, joining the children in arts and crafts, games of hide-and-seek, football, and even a bit of storytelling. These joyful moments weren’t just fun—they were a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. Every child deserves to feel seen, supported and celebrated.

What TrustBridge Can Offer Families with Children

At TrustBridge Care, we are proud to offer specialist domiciliary care for children. Whether a child is living with a long-term health condition, recovering from surgery, or needs ongoing support with physical or learning disabilities, our dedicated care team can work with families to create bespoke care plans that meet their unique needs.

Our children’s services include:

  • Personal care and hygiene support
  • Medication assistance
  • Companionship and developmental support
  • Respite for parents and guardians
  • Support during transitions (hospital to home, school to home, etc.)

We believe that care should be accessible, compassionate and empowering—especially for the youngest members of our community.
